At long last, Culinary Job Training Class 127 competed in their highly anticipated cookoff on Friday, January 21, 2022. Originally postponed due to COVID precautions, this class’s cookoff prompted the students to prepare the best lasagna recipe while incorporating seafood into their meal and preparing a side dish.
While Team 2’s kale salad side was a hit with the judges, their seafood and spinach lasagna was ultimately beat out by Team 1’s chicken and shrimp lasagna dish.
Though Class 127’s time in the CJT program moved to remote learning due to the omicron surge, the two teams remarked at how the life skills they’ve learned helped when it came to trusting their teammates and working as a group during the cookoff.
