The September issue of The Southwester newspaper features a profile on DC Central Kitchen Cafe Manager and Culinary Job Training graduate Antonio.
The glowing feature on our Buzzard Point location of DC Central Kitchen Cafe also traces Antonio’s journey with our organization from first enrolling as a CJT student, to earning his first full-time role with us, to growing into a management position. Just as importantly, the piece showcases Antonio’s contributions to the Southwest neighborhood as a resident of this community and someone who is helping shape its economy in positive, inclusive ways.
“I’m proud of myself, and I feel like the DC Central Kitchen team believes in me,” Antonio told The Southwester. “Sometimes that’s all it takes, someone to believe in you and give you a second chance. And I took advantage of my second chance. Change is possible. It’s never too late.”
