20 DCCK partners will receive more than 17 tons of frozen turkey this holiday season

Washington, DC – November 19, 2025 – From 10am until 2:30pm, DC Central Kitchen will turn the parking lot adjacent to our headquarters into DC’s biggest turkey depot as we supply more than 20 front-line partners with upwards of 2,775 whole, frozen turkeys for use in their holiday programming and outreach. Special thanks to Butterball for their donation of 200 of these turkeys and DC United for providing both volunteer support and generous grant funding for this huge activation. This year’s distribution is on track to be our biggest yet and will pair with record-setting deliveries of fully prepared meals, groceries, and staple goods as DCCK projects to surpass last year’s distribution of 69,000 Thanksgiving meals.

This is a great opportunity to get a feel-good Thanksgiving preview story that could run throughout the weekend and week leading up to the holiday. You’re welcome to capture footage of the turkey distribution and interview DC Central Kitchen’s Chief Development Officer Alexander Moore about the importance of this project and rising levels of need in DC.

WHEN: Friday, November 21, 2025
