The Chili Cook-off comes at the halfway point for our Culinary Job Training program. Working together in assigned teams, students must draw upon the cumulative knife skills they’ve learned over the first seven weeks, as well as the all-important life skills, like trust, communication, and collaboration to create a shared dish that will impress a panel of judges.
Like Class 168 student David says, “It’s all about getting the job done. It’s not an ‘I’ thing, it’s a team thing.” Enjoy a peek behind the scenes as Class 168 prepared and competed in their Chili Cook-off earlier this week!
Congratulations to David, Emoni, Eyoeal, Kandi, Lanita, and Wesley, members of the aptly-named winning team – the DC Chili Champs!
