Over Thanksgiving, DC Central Kitchen was proud to provide Cook for Vets ingredients for their inaugural Thanksgiving Veterans & Friends Appreciation Dinner. According to a recent study by the Military Family Advisory Network, 1 in 6 military and veteran families experienced food insecurity in 2022. As part of Craig Newmark Philanthropies’ craigstable initiative, DCCK is excited to be expanding our partnership with Cook for Vets in the new year with regular meal deliveries that will allow the nonprofit to add a second delivery date to their monthly distribution efforts.
DCCK Chief Development Officer Alex Moore recently sat down with Cook for Vets founder & president LJ Raspler and our own facilities coordinator Anthony Hilliard to talk about Veterans’ hunger in our Craig Newmark Studio for Zealous Communications as we “get loud” together on this vital issue.
