Summer Volunteer Opportunities: Gleaning!

Our popular summer volunteer program is back!

DC Central Kitchen gleanings support local farms and help prevent food waste! From June through October, volunteers will meet us at local farms to pick fresh produce that they could otherwise not harvest or sell. DCCK will use these ingredients to prepare and deliver nutritious meals to community partners throughout DC. No experience is required!

This is a great opportunity for those missing our pre-COVID pandemic indoor volunteer opportunities.

Email gleaning@dccentralkitchen.org to sign up for any of the dates listed below. All volunteers are required to fill out this waiver before participating.

Volunteer Guidelines

Volunteers must be 12 years of age or older and are required to provide their own transportation to and from gleaning events.

Volunteers are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and proof of vaccination must be submitted when registering to volunteer.

DCCK is committed to a safe, fun volunteer gleaning experience and supporting the policies of our local partner farms. Safety protocols are subject to change to meet the requirements of each farm, DC Central Kitchen and local policy. Any changes will be communicated to volunteers in advance of gleaning events.
